This Privacy Policy governs the SPX: QR Scan & Connect app published on Google Play by SPHINX SOFTWARE JOINT STOCK COMPANY (operating as SPX Tech), and describes how the app accesses, collects, uses, and shares information. By downloading or using the app, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

We do not operate any backend server for this app and do not collect, store, or receive your personal data or scanned content. All scanning, code generation, and history are processed and stored locally on your device.

Permissions We Request

The app requests the following device permissions, each used solely for the stated purpose:

• Camera: to scan QR codes and barcodes through the live camera preview. Camera images are processed on your device and are never stored, uploaded, or shared by us.
• Vibrate: to give haptic feedback when a code is successfully scanned.
• Access/Change Wi-Fi State: used only by the "Connect" feature, which lets you join a Wi-Fi network encoded in a scanned QR code. Your Wi-Fi credentials are not transmitted to us.
• Storage (Android 9 and earlier only): to save QR/barcode images you generate or scan to your device's gallery, at your request.

The app does not request access to your contacts, location, microphone, call logs, or SMS.

Information We Collect

The app does not require account creation and does not collect your name, email address, or other personal identifiers.

The content you scan or create (such as URLs, Wi-Fi credentials, contact cards/vCards, text, or other QR/barcode data) is processed and displayed entirely on your device and is never sent to us.

If you enable "Save history" in Settings, scanned and created codes are stored locally on your device so you can revisit them later. App preferences (sound, vibration, auto-open links, auto-copy, save history, theme) are also stored locally. You can clear your history at any time from within the app.

Data Sharing & Third-party Services

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties, and we do not use any advertising or analytics SDK. Any sharing of scanned content (for example, sharing a link or a saved code image) only happens if you explicitly choose to share it using Android's share function.

The app relies on standard Google Play services to provide on-device functionality such as barcode scanning. These components are provided and operated by Google and are governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Data Security

Since your data stays on your device, its security depends primarily on your device's own security (such as screen lock and OS updates). No method of storage is completely immune to risk.

Children's Privacy

The app is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will remove it.

Data Retention

Scan history and settings remain on your device only for as long as you keep the app installed, or until you clear them yourself. Uninstalling the app removes this data. Since we never receive this data, there is nothing for us to delete on our end.
